Forum: etree Subject: Re: Flac failure / no md5?

I have the original .flac files still on my system. I can generate a md5 easily for you. When you mention "delete the contribution" do you mean simply the contribution entry or my existing files on the FTP server as well?

Good to hear this. yes, just generate an md5 from the original files. I meant simply the contibution entry. The files on the FTP server will be safe, no worries :) The last thing we want to do is cause you to re-upload an entire show, that would blow.

When you import a show, the system packages all the files in the imported folder (text, md5, flac's, .jpg files if you included them, whatever.) and puts them together. if you make a mistake and want to 'add' more files later, you have to get rid of the first set of packaging and re-do the package with the new files in it too. The original files are all still there, so it doesn't take much effort or time.

the contribution and show have been deleted, so now you should be able to make and md5, upload it to your directory (making sure it is in the folder with the files it describes) and re-import it. it should run clean, but actually it should fail on one or more tracks, right? since the file set failed the first time. At least this time, since there is an md5 in there, it should e-mail you with info on what one(s) failed and you can go back and either finish uploading that track, or delete it and re-upload it.

Try that out and see how it goes. Good luck! and post if you have probelms.

thanks for contirbuting! also, just for my info, what type of band is this? I've seen their name everywhere for a while, but never heard them. Jam? Funk? rock? give me a little describtion and i'll check this show out when it is public.
